Jorge Manuel is proud to introduce his Nebula Collection, a collection inspired by the stars. “It is not futuristic, per se,’ explains Jorge Manuel.” “It is, however, dealing with the future of bridal, a future available now, with this collection, to the most discerning of brides.”

For centuries, people have marveled in awe at the stars in the night sky. Some have mapped the stars for direction in navigation. Many others used stars and the patterns they made across the sky to tell stories, oral traditions that would be passed down through the generations. Still, others looked to the stars for inspiration or simply to make a wish.

In his most incredible collection yet, Jorge Manuel captures the intoxicating combination of power and wonder stars have inspired for centuries. Each dress is hand crafted with precision, exquisite workmanship and designed with purpose to reflect the essence of each constellation. As you navigate the website, explore the constellations’ stories included as part of each gown’s description. Though many have looked to the stars for the future, allow Jorge Manuel to introduce it in bridal with the Nebula Collection 2011.

The Pyxis

Silk Shantung one-shoulder crisscross pleated ball gown with encrusted bias strips and heavily hand embroidered crystals at bodice and Silk Satin sash at waist. Shown in Off-White color.

The PYXIS dress was a challenge for the designer. Jorge Manuel wanted to capture the “compass” meaning of the constellation in the design of the gown. He finally achieved it by designing the gown in four parts. The first part, the hand-embroidered crystal flange atop the bust, represents the heavenly, star-lit northern sky mariners can see on a calm night out at sea. The midsection of the bodice shows texture with encrusted bias strips, stretching east to represent the Mountains. The third section, the west-seeking Silk Satin sash, denotes the beauty of Earth. Finally, the crisscross full ball gown pleats echoes the flow and ebb of rivers and oceans, which would not be navigable were it not for that noble instrument, the compass.

Available in our five colors. (Pearl, Off-white, Ivory, Candlelight, Cream.)

The opening price range is $5,950- $6,545 with hand-embroidered crystals and $4,100-$4,510 without crystals.

Available in sizes 2 -18.
